Today we are featured on the Etsy adventkalender! http://dutchhandmade.com/?p=8112 Not only on the Dutch site but also on the one from Germany and France. On this nice calender you can see a tutorial for a free DIY little christmas project. These projects are of designers who own an Etsy shop like us. There is an intervieuw and some links to the shop owners blog or site. We are so excited! We made a crochet candle sleeve. It is made out of wool from our village. Caitlin and I were allowed to watch the sheep shaved for the second year. We can pick the ones we like most. After that we wash, rinse, card and spin the tread. And sometimes twine it with another tread. We wash it again to set the twist so the yarn doesn''t curl up. You can make the candle sleeve with every cream coloured yarn, but iff you like to try some Dutch handspun yarn from our village you can find a DIY kit with 15 gram yarn and a crochet hook on our Etsy shop This is for one sleeve. The glass jar and the candle is not included. This wool is Gotland wool, a beautiful long slightly shining fiber. When we saw the sheep we didn't know that it was kind of special, we just like her long curly wool. The other two patterns will soon be on this blog too.
Materialen:
Haaknaald 4 mm
Ca. 10/15 gram handgesponnen Hollandse wol
Glazen potje
Eco-theelichtje
Materials:
4 mm crochet hook
10/15 g Duch handspun wool
Glass jar

This is the pattern of the glas bottle in the middle.
Follow the diagram.
So start with 31 chain stiches, and 1 extra to turn.
If you make more or less chains you can adjust the size for your jar.
Do you need help to learn crochet look at the video on our blog in Dutch (but very slow and visual)
Look at You tube or ask your granny or neighbour.
The patterns of the other two lights will be on our blog.
In our Etsy shop there are DIY kits with our own handspun wool from our village.
